User Reviews about Logitech V450 Cordless Laser Mouse
On my MacBook Pro, the mouse tracking feels a little jittery compared to my corded optical mouse, even with the tracking speed set to the middle speed. Here's why I switched back to my corded Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical:
1. The wheel has to be forcefully clicked to use the middle button. This is a major usability problem for me. Most of my time spent using my laptop is for internet browsing, so I use a middle click [click with the scroll wheel] to open links and bookmarks in new tabs. This mouse makes me not even want to do that.
2. The wheel is very loud (compared to other mice I have). You can hear every movement of the wheel. It seems to be loudest when it's scrolled up. The noise might annoy your co-workers or roommate.
Pros:
* The wheel does have a click feel, which I prefer.
* The shape is better than some mice and pretty comfortable
* Tiny USB dongle
* The mouse will turn off to save power when you plug the dongle into the mouse
If you don't use the middle click button (scroll wheel click) and the wheel noise will not be a problem, this mouse is probably a good value. -- Good mouse if you don't use the middle click button.
I have had this for about a year now and it is a great mouse. It's accurate, long battery life, comfortable, works on the arm of my chair, etc.. I have found that the USB dongle while not huge is still getting caught up on things. I am concerned about damaging my laptop. I also want to put my laptop in my bag without having to unplug and replug the receiver each time. I am switching to a Nano style which has the tiny USB receiver. I am going to switch this mouse over to my work desktop and ditch the old school corded mouse. I do recommend this mouse if you do not mind the receiver sticking out about 1.5 inches. -- Great Mouse - USB Dongle is too big
A very good low cost option to the more expensive versions that are, admittedly, somewhat nicer. -- Works as advertised
I particularly like the storage space for the receiver. I had to buy a new mouse because the receiver for my previous mouse got lost when someone else used the computer. Now I can remove it and store it when I travel. I find the scrolling to be less responsive than on my previous cordless mouse (also by Logitec) and my regular mouse. -- Very handy mouse.
